Since 1901, Heartland Bank has remained family owned to continue local decision making and community support.
The bank’s fifth and newest branch opened in Jefferson in 2020 at a temporary downtown location, and moved into their permanent building two years later.
Scott Weber, vice-president of the Jefferson branch, said this is what originally attracted him to Heartland Bank in 2019.
Weber said Jefferson’s economic development and Community Development Block Grants made the town a desired destination for the bank.
“We’re adding tax base back to the community, and community involvement and support have all been things that we’ve provided,” Weber said.
