Praise welcomed for making Ida County a Home Base Iowa Community

Praise was welcomed for the efforts of Dale Ullrich and other community members for making Ida County a Home Base Iowa Community. A program was held on Feb. 19 at the Skate Palace including a ribbon cutting to celebrate this feat done by Ida County. To start the program, our soldiers entered carrying the nation’s colors. A prayer was said by company Chaplin Morris Hurd.

Dale Ullrich from Veterans Affairs introduced Devlun Whiteing, Ida County Supervisor. Whiteing said,

“Home Base Iowa encourages making our community a good place for veterans to work and live. Ida County became a Home Base Iowa community. We put together a welcome package for veterans as they enter our community. Some gave all, some gave some. It’s time for our county to serve them.”
