POET Facilities Earn Safety Award

POET has received the BNSF’s Annual Product Stewardship Award for 2008. The award is presented to shippers who transported a minimum of 500 loaded tank cars of hazardous materials during the previous year with zero non-accident releases (releases that are not caused by a derailment or collision) during the entire transportation cycle.

’Menlo Man’ on Cover of New Iowa Map

The western Iowa community of Menlo is on the map -- that is, the new Iowa Department of Transportation state map. Liz Gilman, with the White Pole Road Development Corporation, says the restored "Friendly Gas Station Man" sign which waves and greets visitors to Menlo, is featured on the cover of the new map which showcases scenes around Iowa.

E.E. Warren Opera House Receives $52,000
