The Iowa Business Council (IBC) released it’s quarterly Economic Outlook Survey. See the news release and report on the Carroll Chamber of Commerce blog. Carroll to celebrate 50th anniversary of Minneapolis Lakers’ forced airplane landing here The public is invited to attend a reception to recognize the 50th anniversary of the forced landing of the Minneapolis Lakers plane in Carroll. The reception will be 50 years to the day of the miracle landing, Monday, January 18, 2010 at the Harold Bierl Community Room at the Depot Plaza. The reception will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a short program at 6:00 p.m. to include Harold Gifford, co-pilot of the aircraft, accounts from local residents and the unveiling of a monument to commemorate the landing.
